Hi, I’m Amanda Gascoigne, The Biz Buddy.

I’m a Chartered Accountant & I’ve been a trusted advisor and confidante to thousands of small to medium sized businesses for over 20 years. My career started in a large international accounting firm and later in a middle tier accounting firm where I worked closely with clients. This provided me with the perfect platform to start my very own successful tax and accounting firm from home 18 years ago, just before I had my two sons.

It could have been quite easy for me to continue to grow my business by employing more staff and attracting more clients, however, I wanted to keep working closely with the clients I had and personally not take on more.

So in February 2013, The Biz Buddy concept was born whereby I could still share my knowledge with businesses owners, but just not in the traditional accountant/client relationship.

I am an author for MYOB and contribute regular articles for their business audience and their accountant and bookkeeper audience.

I also sit on the ATO’s Single Touch Payroll Readiness working group which I feel extremely privileged to be the voice representing tax practitioners and their clients.

I also produce lots of educational blogs and resources for small to medium sized businesses to help them feel less freaked out and stressed out when it comes to their business’s numbers and all that “financial and tax stuff”. In addition to being the “Queen of Numbers” as one of my client’s refers to me as, I’m also the “Queen of Organisation”. So I share lots of tips and hacks to help get more organised books and offices. And finally, I hope that what I share will help business owners start talking more to their accountants, to open up conversations with them which ultimately should lead to better and more valued relationships with their accountants.

As The Biz Buddy, I educate, empower and encourage small to medium sized businesses on the basics of business, finance, tax and the importance of balancing their business and family life. This sets them up for long term success and ultimately better businesses and better lives.
